DRT America’s plant in Rincon, GA uses a renewable byproduct of the paper industry, which is derived from traditional wood harvesting, called crude sulfate turpentine (CST). We upcycle this raw material into highly diversified and high-performance plant-based ingredients that are used by and reintroduced into various industries, including the fine fragrance, food and beverage, medical, automotive and adhesive industries.
Through a process of distillation and reactive chemistry, impurities introduced during paper making are removed and CST is processed into valuable product ingredients.
The process we use allows all material to be reprocessed with only a wastewater stream that is shipped from the site to regional treatment plants, allowing DRT America facility to maintain a minimal environmental footprint. No wastewater is released on-site.
