Meet Maurice Jenkins, logistic loader and unloader at the DRT Springfield plant. Read on to learn how Maurice keeps DRT moving and his love for the great outdoors.
Can you tell us about your work at DRT?
I’ve been with DRT for seven years, handling the logistics of loading and unloading shipments. I’m responsible for dispatching our products in a timely manner, helping make sure we’re operating as efficiently as possible. I’ve found each day brings new learning opportunities – just one of the reasons I find my work fulfilling.
Share a little about your background and what brought you to DRT.
Originally from Detroit, Michigan, I moved here after high school to join the Air Force. Joining DRT felt like a natural progression, and I’ve enjoyed working at the plant since day one. The small-scale operation and friendly work environment with great people make it a pleasure to come to work every day.
Outside of work, what are your hobbies and interests?
Moving to the South really intensified my love for the outdoors. Fishing or camping are my go-to activities. I’m also coaching my daughter’s softball team and have been coaching various youth sports for nearly two decades.
And a fun fact about me – I’m a musician, a hobby that might surprise my coworkers!
