GET TO KNOW AMANDA STEWART, PRODUCTION SPECIALIST, DRT

Meet Amanda Stewart, production specialist at the DRT Springfield plant. Learn more about her role at DRT and why she loves her hometown, Rincon, Ga.

Can you tell us about your work at DRT?

In my role as production specialist, I coordinate training sessions for operators, prepare testing and training materials and update all standard operating procedures. It all comes down to helping our team do their job safely.

I first started as an entry-level operator when the plant opened in 2017 and worked my way up to a team leader position. This is the most fulfilling job I’ve ever had – I’m constantly learning new things and love our team.

Share a little about your background and what brought you to DRT.

I’ve lived in Rincon since I was three – my whole life has been in this area. Coming out of high school, I worked in food and beverage retail and got a lot of customer service experience. For a while, I went to college to study visual arts as I’ve always loved painting, but I decided it wasn’t what I wanted as a career.

After dabbling in a few different jobs, I started working at an aluminum plant that closed down, and DRT was opening up at the same time. As they accepted applications, I jumped at the opportunity and the rest is history.

Outside of work, what are your hobbies and interests?

Painting is still a hobby of mine, as I love being creative. Once in a while, you’ll also find me on the golf course.

Other than that, I love hanging out with my dogs, meeting up with friends at any of the local spots and spending quality time with my family.
